Question

Is humming or sounds from the mouth that sound like an instrument in a nasheeds haram? Can one listen to this?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

In relation to nasheeds, the fundamental principle is of them being permitted which do not contain any couplets which are against Islam.

In regards to the same, it is also impermissible to use instrumental objects other than the duff which can be found in the Sunnah.

Humming can be of two types, if the humming is imitating impermissible instrumental objects then it will be impermissible, however, if it imitates just the vocal of which has no couplets of impermissibility then it will be allowed.
