Qadha for missed salaah and fasts

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: What is the method for qadhaa namaaz and fasting?

Bismillaah

A: One should as far as possible make qadha of the missed salaahs as quickly as possible. He should try and offer several qadha salaahs in one salaah time. If one remembers the exact date of the qadha salaahs then the niyyat should be specified for the salaah of that date. If the dates are unknown and there are several qadha salaahs then each time one reads qadha one should intend the first qadha of Zuhr for example.

Once, the month of Ramadhaan ends, one should as quickly as possible commence with the qadha for the missed fasts. If fasts from the Ramadhaan of different years were missed then one should specify the year for the qadha when making the intention.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
