Donating interest money to a madrasah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: My bank credits me every quarterly with interest money in my account. What can I do with this amount? Can I donate it to any Islamic madrasa? If not, can you please tell me about this issue.

Bismillaah

A: Interest money should be given to some poor person, perhaps some of your poor relatives. As far as possible, avoid giving it to a madrasah.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
