Another Hadith on ‘Kawthar’; a river in Jannah

What is the authenticity of this Hadith?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘I saw a river in Jannah whose banks had tents which were made of pearl. I said: “What is this O Jibril?’” He said: “This is Al Kawthar which Allah has granted you.”

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu). He has declared the Hadith authentic.

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3360)

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded the Hadith with slight variation in the wording.

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 4964 and 6581)
