Three good deeds

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Is this correct?

Allah Ta’ala will make the hour of death easy for the one who possesses the following three qualities and enter him into Jannah:

1. Kindness to the weak
2. Treating his parents with loving care
3. Showing favour to his subordinates (slaves)

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this and graded it weak.

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2494. Also see: Targhib, Hadith: 1398, 3383, 3953 and Al-Matjarur Rabih, Hadith: 613, 1642, Kanzul ‘Ummal, Hadith: 43213 and Mishkat, Hadith: 3364 -Mirqat and 3300-Hidayatutr Ruwat)

Note: Besides Mishkat, none of the other sources have the promise of one’s death being easy, although they all quote the same Hadith of Tirmidhi. Instead of that part, the other sources (including my copy Sunan Tirmidhi itself) have: that Allah Ta’ala will shade this person on the day of Qiyamah, in addition to admitting him into Jannah.

Mulla ‘Ali Qari (rahimahullah) and ‘Allamah Munawi (rahimahullah) have stated that this could be a difference in the copies of Sunan Tirmidhi.

This would mean that the author of Masabihus Sunnah (the original text on which Mishkat is based) had the wording in question.

(Mirqat, Hadith: 3364 and Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 3416)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
