Can you please help with a Hadith that says Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would teach the Sahabah the du’a of istikharah like he taught us Surah Fatihah?
Answer:
Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Jabir ibn ‘Abdillah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The words are as follows:
“Nabi(sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would teach us istikharah just as he would teach us a Surah of the Qur’an…”
(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 1162 and 6382)
