Married Man Seeking Second Wife: Navigating Islamic Solutions and Parental Objections

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I am a married man with a daughter but my marriage with my wife is not working out. Now I want to take second wife. The girl is ready. Her age is 25 but her parents are not ready. We love each other. Please tell us the Islamic solution. Can we do court marriage? Can we do muta? Can she marry me without her parents permission? Please guide us before we do something stupid.

Bismillaah

A: All types of premarital relationships are haraam. You should immediately end up this relationship and sincerely repent to Allah Ta’ala for getting involved in haraam. Make a firm resolve that you will never repeat this sin in the future. If the girls parents do not wish to get their daughter married to you, then you should not pursue the issue.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
