Does a woman have to be divorced three times in order for her to marry another man or are one or two times enough?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

الحمد لله رب العالمين و صلى الله على سيدنا محمد و على آله و صحبه و سلم

أما بعد

Marrying a [m: divorced] woman isn’t conditional upon her previous husband having divorced her a specific number of times. Rather, a single divorce and the completion of the waiting period (Ar. ‘iddah) are sufficient.

السؤال : هل ينبغي للمرأة أن تطلق ثلاث مرات حتى يحل لها أن تتزوج زوجا آخر بعد انقضاء العدة أم هل تكفى مرة أو مرتان ؟

الجواب : لا يشترط في حلِّ نكاح المرأة أن تطلق من الزوج السابق عدداً معيناً من الطلاق ، بل يكفي في ذلك طلقة واحدة مع انتهاء العدة .
