Asr little before Maghrib, Facebook, becoming and Alim

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Tafseer Raheemi

Question

Salaam,

  1. If I was praying Asr salaah and whilst I was praying, the azaan for Maghrib is called, Is my Asr salaah valid?
  2. I know Facebook is wrong, I try my utmost best to stay away from it (I have deactivated and activated it several times!), please could you give me a little advice on the harms of this fitnah.
  3. I wish to become an alim and reach a status such as yours, which Darul-Uloom would you recommend?

May Allah reward you for all your efforts and grant you a lofty rank in Jannah, Ameen.

Answer

  1. Yes, its valid, but your Salaah will become makrooh, due to the delaying. The sawaab of a makrooh amal is reduced by many folds.
  2. As far as I know, private life becomes public on Facebook. Also temptations are there, and when illicit friendship is developed, it can lead to many harms. So avoid it.
  3. Ilm is a gift of Allah. You work hard and Allah will bless you with this gift. Think carefully and choose the one which is closer to your home and where there is an environment of learning. You can come to our Darul-Uloom. We will be most glad to receive you.
