Should khilal of the toes be made after having washed both the feet or after each one?

In the monumental book “Mirqat ul Mafateeh”, Mulla Ali Qari writes in the commentary of Hadith #406 that the khilal of the toes should be done after washing the feet.

If a person puts his hands or his feet in water, then the person does not have to do Khilal of the fingers or toes. Irrespective if the water is running or not. (Fatawa Hindiyyah, Al-Bahrur Rahiq, Mariquil Falah)
