Teaching a convert the simplest possible prayer

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Qibla.com

Answered by Shaykh Faraz Rabbani

Prayer guides only ever show the full prayer. Generally this is fine, but it makes converts get worried and do things like delay praying until they’ve mastered it – I have even know people delay shahadah until they’ve learnt the prayer. So, what is the absolute minimum prayer that is valid?

Answer:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Walaikum assalam wa rahmatullah,

I pray this finds you in the best of health and spirits.

The first step is to fulfill conditions and integrals. After this, to do the necessary (wajib) actions. Then the sunnas. And so on. refer to a reliable Hanafi reference for guidance on these actions.

And Allah alone gives success. Faraz Rabbani
