Question on Hajj-e-Badal

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Mahmoodiyah

Question:

salaam, I want to do hajj on behalf of my father who died this year. I have done hajj before but I recently read that hajj on behalf of my father has to be Qiraan not Tamattu. please advise me if I can do Tamattu on his behalf as the group that I am going with will be doing Tamattu. also I am taking my wife so is I have to do Qiraan and she is doing Tamattu how do we deal with the fact that she needs  a Mahram to do her Sa’ee which I would not be doing on the 10th of hajj.
please respond as early as possible Jazakallah
salaam

Yes, you can perform Hajj-e-Tamattu’ on behalf of your father.  It is permissible.  (Jadeed Fiqhi Masaail, Vol. 2, Page 200)
