Before the Prophethood, Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam was following Deen e Haneef

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

Dear Mufti Sb,
Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuhu!
May Allah (SWT) bless you for all your efforts towards spreading the precious knowledge of Islam and its due enlightenments throughout the globe (JAZAKALLAH KHAIRAN).
I have been asked by one of my friends regarding the religion (DEEN) of Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) before his Prophethood. Which religion (DEEN) was he specifically following until the process of revelation started? As for as I knew from the books of Seerat, the Prophet (PBUH) is mentioned of following Ibrahimi religion (DEEN). Kindly specifically mention the one with necessary details so that it becomes clear to us. If possible, kindly mention the references or any books available in PDF format for detailed study.
Once again JAZAKALLAH KHAIRAN for all your valuable efforts.
Very sincerely,

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Before the Prophet-hood, Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam was following Deen e Haneef i.e. as per the practice of Hadhrath Ibrahim Alaihis Salam. Even in this duration, he was under the guidance of Allah Tha’Ala in his each stride as explained by most Muhadditheen. Refer Fath’hul Bary of Ibn Hajr Asqalani, Irshad us Sary, Umdath ul Qary and Sharhul Bukhary li Kirmani.
Allah knows best.
