Naat Hamd or Ayaath of Qur’an in Mobiles as ringtones?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

Assalamu Alaiykum Is it allowed to keep Naat Hamd or Ayaath of Qur’an in Mobiles as ringtones? One Moulana says it is not permissible to use as such. In that case what are we supposed to keep as ringtones since every ringtone is mixed with music. If we keep Islamic ringtones Allah’s name could be heard over and again to the extent that, by keeping it as Alarm in moble, Allah’s name could be echoed in the ears in the morning itself and can save the ears from listening to music. Please give areply which would benefit the Ummath. Please remember in Duas. May Allah bestow your Madrasa with more progress and improvements.

Using some Qur’an Aayath in place of a ringtone is prohibited due to the fact that it is against the sacred purpose of Holy Qur’an and could be counted as a disrespect, hence it should be avoided at all costs.
As for using Islamic Nazm, Naat etc., there is no harm in it, hence it is allowed to use these types of meaningful phrases etc.
