Is it permissible to perform Namaz behind Ghairi Muqallideen?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Jamia Binoria

Assalamu Alaikum Mufthi Sahib! Is it permissible to perform Namaz behind Ghairi Muqallideen ( those who do not follow a Mazhab) or no? Specially when there is no other mosque…?
Please send reply. Thanks. May Allah keep you all happy. Aameen

الجواب حامدا و مصلیا

Generally, the present day Ghairi Muqallid people who call themselves to be Ahl e Hadees do contradict deliberately to Mazhabs specially to Hanafi, in provisions pertaining to non-unified matters; consider following (Taqleed) of predecessors to be Shirk; rebuke and find fault with the righteous predecessors; and, reject to accept Ijma e Ummath and Qiyas to be sources of Sharia. If the concerned people who do not follow the Mazhabs too are of similar state then instead of performing Namaz behind them, should try to perform Namaz following another Imam who possesses correct concepts (Aqeeda) even though such a place is more far from ones place.
Allah knows best.
