I have the following question:
There is a Hadith which mentions that we are required to choose a spouse who is loving and fertile. How would we able to know if the potential spouse is loving and fertile?
Answer
The Hadith you are referring to is recorded in Sunan Abi Dawud and other Hadith collections.

The commentators explain that for a virgin woman, these two qualities can be known by looking at her [close] family members since these qualities are usually hereditary. Mulla ‘Ali Al Qari (rahimahullah) writes, “It is also possible that this Hadith means, remain married to your wife who is loving and child bearing.”
