Translation of the Hadith on the benefit of salutations

What is the translation of this Hadith?

عن الطفيل بن أبي بن كعب، عن أبيه، قال قال رجل يا رسول الله أرأيت إن جعلت صلاتي كلها عليك؟ قال إذن يكفيك الله ما أهمك من دنياك وآخرتك

Answer

The translation is as follows:

Sayyiduna Ubayy ibn Ka’b (radiyallahu ‘anhu) said, “A man once came to Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! What do you think if I make my entire du’a only salutations upon you’? Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, ‘In that case, Allah Ta’ala will take care of whatever concerns you with regard to this world or the Hereafter.’” [i.e. Allah Ta’ala will take care of all of your needs]

(Musnad Ahmad, vol. 5 pg. 136)
