What is the authenticity of the Hadith “There is nothing more honorable [better] to Allah than du’a”?
Answer
Imam Tirmidhi and Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3370 and Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 3829)
Imam Tirmidhi has declared the Hadith sound (hasan). Imam Ibn Hibban, Imam Hakim and ‘Allamah Dhahabi (rahimahumullah) have declared the Hadith authentic.

When engaging in du’a, a person displays utmost humility, submissiveness and acknowledges the fact that none can assist him except Allah Ta’ala. Therefore du’a has been termed as the best act of worship.
