Salutations (durud) is a means of ‘afiyah

What is authenticity of following narration?

من صلى علي فتح الله عليه بابا من العافية

Answer

I have not come across this narration in any authentic primary Hadith source. The narration should not be quoted until the chain can be located and verified, especially since this narration appears in some books of the Shi’ah.

(Also see: Al Hawi Lil Fatawi, vol. 2 pg. 49, Darul Fikr edition)

There are many other authentic virtues of salutations (durud) which should be quoted instead.

Translation

Whoever sends salutations upon me, Allah Ta’ala will open up for him a door of well-being [‘afiyah].

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
