Those who will not enter Jannah early

Answered according to Hanafi Fiqh by

In the following Hadith, what does خب mean?

لا يدخل الجنة خب

This is part of a longer Hadith recorded in Sunan Tirmidhi on the authority Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1963)

‘خب’ refers to an imposter/fraud/swindler, one who causes and spreads mischief and corruption.

(Refer: Tuhfatul Ahwadhi, Hadith: 1963)

The full Hadith is as follows:

Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (radiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “The imposter, those who remind people of favours and the miser will not enter Jannah [early].

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 1963. Imam Tirmidhi has declared the Hadith sound)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
