Another explanation of the Hadith regarding ‘A man will be rewarded for giving his wife something to drink’

I have heard from a Scholar that the following Hadith refers to sexual intercourse with one’s wife. Is this a legitimate explanation?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“When a man gives his wife something to drink, he will be rewarded.”

Answer

‘Allamah Sindhi (rahimahullah) has offered this as a possible explanation. He writes, “It is also possible that this Hadith refers to sexual intercourse. i.e. A man will be rewarded for carrying out this deed with his spouse if he makes the intention to protect his chastity as well as his wife’s chastity.”

(Hashiyatus Sindhi ‘Ala Musnadil Imam Ahmad, vol. 4 pg. 166/167
