Another version of the narration regarding Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum) greeting if a tree came between them

Can you provide the reference for this narration?

Answer

Imam Bukhari (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration in Al Adabul Mufrad.

(Al Adabul Mufrad, Hadith: 1011)

Similar narrations have been recorded in Sunan Abi Dawud and Tabarani. See here.

Translation

Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says, “When the Sahabah (radiyallahu ‘anhum) were [walking/travelling] together and a tree came between them and some went to the right and others to the left of the tree, they would greet each other with salam once again when meeting.”

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
