Is this Hadith authentic?
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“The lifespan for my Ummah is from sixty years to seventy years and very few surpass this”
Answer
Imams Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu). Imam Tirmidhi has declared the Hadith sound (hasan) and Imam Ibn Hibban has authenticated the Hadith.
