Hold fast onto the Holy Quran

What is the authenticity of the following narration regarding the Quran?

“Indeed this Quran is such that its one end is in the [control] of Allah and the other end is in your hands. Therefore firmly hold onto it, for certainly you will not go astray nor and will you be destroyed thereafter”

Answer

The full narration is as follows:

Abu Shurayh Al Khuza’i (radiyallahu ‘anhu) says:

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) once came out to us and said, ‘Glad tidings, do you not testify that there is none worthy of worship but Allah and I am the Messenger of Allah’? The Sahabah replied, ‘Most definitely’. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) then said, ‘Indeed this Quran is [a means of attaining something], one end is in Allah’s [control] and one end in your control, so hold fast onto the Quran, for [if you do so] you will never go astray nor will you be destroyed”

(Sahih Ibn Hibban, Al Ihsan, Hadith: 122, Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 30628, and Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 491, volume: 22)

Imam Ibn Hibban has declared the Hadith authentic. ‘Allamah Mundhiri and Hafiz Haythami have declared the chain of narrators of Tabarani reliable.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
