What is the grade of the following narration?
“When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would not perform the four rak’ah [of Sunnah] before Zuhr he would pray them after it.”
Answer:
Imam Tirmidhi and Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyidah ‘Aaishah (radiyallahu ‘anha).
Imam ibn Majah’s version has the words ‘He would offer [the four Sunnah] after offering the two Sunnah of Zuhr’
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 426 and Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1158)
Imam Tirmidhi has declared the Hadith sound (hasan).
