Virtue of a recital at the end of a gathering

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

What is the authenticity of this narration?

“Whoever desires to earn a lot of rewards on the Day of Judgment, let him recite the verse “Subhana rabbika …” when he rises from a gathering.) ”

Answer

This is recorded by Imam Ibn Abi Hatim (rahimahullah) in his Tafsir, with an authentic chain (sahih) that is mursal (broken after the Tabi’i).

[Mursal chains are acceptable according to the Hanafis, Malikis & some Hambalis]

In addition to this chain, it has other supports too which make it suitable for practice.

(See Tafsir ibn Kathir, Surah Saffat, Ayah:180-182 & Nataijul Afkar, vol.2 pg.306)
