Clarification on Dajjal

A message has been circulating on social media that a one eyed baby was born in Israel. Allah Ta’ala has mentioned in the Quran that a baby just like Dajjal will be born in Israel and that this is a sign of the day of judgement. After mentioning some signs of Qiyamah, the message goes on to say our Prophet (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “Whoever delivers this news to someone else, I will on the Day of Judgment make for him a place in Jannah.

Is this authentic?

Answer

There is no such verse in the Quran!

One should be wary of such misleading messages.

One should also bear in mind that Dajjal was around centuries ago as has been famously reported in Sahih Muslim that Sayyiduna Tamim Ad Dari (radiyallahu ‘anhu) had seen Dajjal on an island.

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2942)

As for the second part of your question, regarding the reward of conveying this message, I am unable to locate this Hadith in any authentic Hadith book.

One should be cautious and abstain from quoting a Hadith (like the one in question) when the Hadith is untraceable in any original Hadith source, until its authenticity can be verified.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best

‘Many people nowadays, in their search for fame, play on the sentiments of people by adding such statements at the end of their messages. This is not becoming of any Muslim. People should be stopped from such low trickery!’
