A Hadith falsely attributed to Sahih Bukhari

Where in Sahih Bukhari does this Hadith appear?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“In three situations, if you pray du’a, it will definitely be accepted:

1) When your body starts shaking.

2) When you got fear in your heart.

3) When you got tears in your eyes.

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) also said: “Whoever shares this knowledge, he will have a house in front of me in Jannah” (Bukhari)

Please verify this for me as it has become very popular on social media.

Answer

This Hadith is not in Sahih Bukhari, nor have I come across it in any authentic Hadith collection.

One should exercise caution when attributing a Hadith to Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) as well as to any authentic Hadith collection. The warnings of quoting fabrications are severe.

Social media is not the place for acquiring ‘ilm (sacred knowledge). You have done the right thing by seeking verification before sharing with others. By forwarding/sharing such quotes on social media without verifying, we are at risk of spreading false information regarding our Din which is a major sin!

May Allah Ta’ala guide us all. Amin
