Am I not muslims anymore?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwaa.com

AsalamuAlaikum,

I think I have accidentally said blasphemous word and realised it later that I said wrong. Am I not muslim now? I was talking with my brother who was telling me an incident about an ottoman emperor who was very pious. A man came to him telling him he saw Prophet(SAW) in a dream and he referred to the emperor as “My Hamid” and as the emperor listened this he started giving bags of dinar to the man telling. The Vizir then stopped the emperor. While my brother was telling me this I, in my rotten knowledge and ignorance said “or else they would’ve become poor”. I instantly realised that I said something wrong and I made Taubah. But have I said blasphemous words and have I left Islam? Please let me know how I can repent. I will In Shaa Allah be careful with my words from now. My heart and soul can not even think of speaking blasphemous words but I don’t know why I said these ignorant rotten words.

Answer

Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Your Iman is intact, and you have not become a disbeliever. In future, you should be mindful of what you say.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best
