Can a person read the Quran on their periods, through their phone?
Answer:
Wa’alaykum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,
The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said,
لاَ تَقْرَأِ الحَائِضُ، وَلاَ الجُنُبُ شَيْئًا مِنَ القُرْآنِ
“A woman who is experiencing her periods and a person who is in the state of janābat (major impurity) should not recite anything from Qur’ān.” (Sunan at-Tirmidhi)
Hence, it is not permissible for a female to recite the Quran whilst going through her menses. The same ruling applies whether she recites from the actual Quran, or whether she recites from a phone or tablet. In all cases, it will be impermissible.
She should rather recite the Kalimah, Istighfaar, Durud etc.
