Seeing white in underwear

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa.org.au
_ Sometimes in my underwear I see something white but it is not a liquid. I think it’s the cloth (wool) of the underwear. This puts doubt in my head and I have to have a bath. This happens to me alot and everyday I have a bath, even twice on one day. So does it have to be a liquid in order for you to take bath and put on new clothes? Or if anything is white I have to have bath and put on new clothes (underwear)?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

_ If it resembles white cloth or cotton then you do not need to take a bath.

Ghusl only becomes compulsory when a person ejaculates semen with desire. If any other liquid comes out from the private part or if semen comes out due to lifting something heavy or due to some sickness, ghusl will not be compulsory. In such a case, one will merely have to wash off the liquid before offering salat; he will also have to repeat his wudu.

Upon waking up from sleep, if a person sees something in his underwear that resembles fresh or dried liquid then whether or not he will have to take a ghusl is mentioned in the following answer:
