Making masah over hijab and socks

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Q. I am working in the Methanol Industry, which means that I have to constantly dress with coveralls and a steel tip boot. Due to this dress code I am constantly missing my salaah. My question is, I would like to know if I can perform wudhu by wiping my wet hands over my socks and hijab when I am performing it.

A. It is not permissible to make masah by passing your wet hands over the hijab.

As for the socks, if they are made of leather, then it will be permissible for you to pass your wet hands over them. However, if these are the normal nylon (cotton) socks that are commonly worn, then you will not be able to wipe over them.

And Allah knows best.
