The health of the wife must be taken into consideration when it comes to pregnancies and having babies. At times, it is risky and difficult for a woman to have a child or become pregnant every year, and this affects her health. As such, it is good that there be a gap/duration between pregnancies (having children). Two years seem to be good or any other such duration that your medical experts may advise based upon the wife’s former pregnancy and her health condition. This means that during this time, you can use protection through the means of temporary contraception.

And Allah Knows Best.
