Question: How is it for a female to perform her Fajr Salah 10min before sunrise. Though valid, is this acceptable and, if not, please explain why?
Does a husband have Shar’i right to reprimand her for such a practice?
Answer: Assalamu Alaikum,
Although the Salaah is valid, it is not proper for one to intentionally delay the Fajr Salah until it is so close to sunrise. At this time, when the effect of the rays of the sun begin to spread on the horizon and the place becomes clear, it is Makrooh to delay one’s Salah to this time. One should therefore avoid this practice.
In this situation, the husband has a right to correct his wife. However, instead of reprimanding her, he should advise her of the correct practice in a beautiful manner.
