Question:
A person refrains from cutting his nail/hair due to performing Qurbani. He follows Saudi for Eid (20th of July) whilst his wakeel doing the Qurbani for him does so on Eid day in India (21th of July).
Does he, therefore, need to spend his Eid with long nails, etc until the wakeel has slaughtered his animal the next day?
If so, he also has no way of finding out what time of the day on the 21st the animal will be slaughtered, so how does he know what time of the day to cut the nails/hair?

Answer:
It is Mustahab (preferable) for a person who is intending to do Qurbani to cut hair and clip nails after the sacrifice and Qurbani.
Umm Salama (RA) reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) having said this: When any one of you is intending to sacrifice the animal entering in the month (of Dhu’l-Hijja), he should not get his hair or nails touched (cut). [1]
If the person who is doing Qurbani is in one country and the animal is in another country then both will be taking into consideration, ie. The animal must be slaughtered on such a day when it is still Eid day for both. [2]
As far as “How can one find out what time an animal will be slaughtered” is concerned, in the era of the internet and telephone, one can easily be informed after or he could be informed prior to slaughtering that they will be slaughtered at that time.
