Salah on Airplanes

Question

Would the fatawa regarding salah on airplanes be different if we assumed the majority of people on the plane are actually going to pray to stand?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

The Fatawa regarding salah on airplanes mention that if a person is able to stand but cannot stand or face the qibla or do ruku and sujud then they will pray sitting down in their seat and repeat the prayer later on. The ruling will remain the same if it is assumed the majority of the people on the airplane are actually going to pray. If a person can pray with them then they will stand, face the qibla, and pray normally with sajdah/ruku. However, if they are not able to fulfill these three conditions then they will pray sitting and repeat the prayer (Fatawa Mahmoodiya Vol. 7, pg. 532).
