Question
How do you distribute small items, e.g. clothes, utensils, electronics?
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Answer:
Allāh says: “There is a share for men and a share for women from what is left by parents and those nearest related, whether, the property be small or large — a legal share.” (Qur’ān, 4:7)
When distributing the estate (tarakah) of the deceased, it is important to include all items, whether small or large. The distribution of small items can be carried out by mutual consent.
