What to do if Tissue put to Prevent Urine Drops Moves Out of Place

Question

Assalamu Alaikum.

If I put a tissue after urination to prevent urine drops, and it moves out of place and touches my body and clothes, will the body and clothes become impure? Do I have to wash them?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful

Answer:

Tissue paper is absorbent, so any urine leaving the body after urination will be sucked up by the tissue paper. If this najasah dries up on the tissue paper and then the tissue paper comes in contact with dry clothing or the dry body, then there will be no transfer of najasah. Hence, the body and clothing will not have to be washed. However, one must be particular to remove any tissue paper used for this purpose before praying.

If the tissue is wet due to najasah at the time when it comes in contact with the body and clothes, then that area of the body and clothes will also become impure. In this case, if the najasah on the body or clothing reaches an area that is equivalent to the inner concave area of the palm (about 3-5 centimetres in diameter) or more, then salaah with that najasah will not be accepted and it must be removed.[1]
