Question:
If chicken feed has the fat of pig and beef in it is it still halal to eat chicken meat
Answer
بسم الله الرحمن الرحي
If the chicken is fed with Carcass, pig or anything impure, the chicken will be halal to eat as long as the majority of its feed does not depend on it.
Also, as long as the food does not affect the flesh of the chicken and does not develop a foul smell due to the carcass or swine etc. the chicken will be regarded as halal.
However it is preferable that one should confine the chickens for some days so that they do not feed on foul things, and so that their flesh is clean from filth.
وَلَا يُكْرَهُ أَكْلُ الدَّجَاجِ الْمَخْلِيِّ، وَإِنْ كَانَ يَتَنَاوَلُ النَّجَاسَةَ؛ لِأَنَّهُ لَا يَغْلِبُ عَلَيْهِ أَكْلُ النَّجَاسَةِ بَلْ يَخْلِطُهَا بِغَيْرِهَا وَهُوَ الْحَبُّ، وَالْأَفْضَلُ أَنْ يُحْبَسَ الدَّجَاجُ حَتَّى يَذْهَبَ مَا فِي بَطْنِهَا مِنْ النَّجَاسَةِ، كَذَا فِي الْبَدَائِعِ.

وَعَلَى هَذَا نَقُولُ: لَا بَأْسَ بِأَكْلِ الدَّجَاجَةِ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ تَقَعُ عَلَى الْجِيَفِ؛ لِأَنَّهَا تَخْلِطُ، وَلَا يَتَغَيَّرُ لَحْمُهَا وَلَا يَنْتُنُ، وَقِيلَ: هِيَ تَنْقُشُ الْجِيَفَ تَبْتَغِي الْحَبَّ فِيهَا لَا أَنْ تَتَنَاوَلَ الْجِيَفَ.
