My maid works in another house. There the lady for whom she works told her that if she stops making lock of her hair instead she starts making plate of the hair, all her problems will be sorted out. The lady says it is against Shariah to make hair lock; rather one should plate the hair. I wanted to know, is this right?

(Fatwa: 1217/872/D=1433)
As it is lawful for women to make hairlock in the same way it is lawful to plate it. The saying of the said woman is not correct.
