Does Shariah allow us to carry out activities related to Masjid, madrasa, and lodging for Jamat members?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I am writing this letter to have your opinion and views on certain topics under the guidance of Hadith and the Holy Quran with your fatwa. Receive donation/funds in the name of Masjid, but to utilize it to establish/construct madrasa Darul Uloom. Provide lodging and boarding for visiting Jamat members in the Masjid. Establish madrasa for small children with boarding and lodging facilities where religious training and knowledge of the Holy Quran will be arranged in the Masjid. I understand that all the above topics are necessary and related to our religion, but does the Shariah allow us to carry on the above activities or not. Please be kind enough to reply and issue a fatwa for the same as soon as possible.

Answer

(Fatwa: 181/134/B=1433)

The Waqf of mosque and madrasa is separate; hence it is not lawful to establish Darul Uloom or feed the members of Jamah and arrange their stay, likewise start madrasa for small children with the money that is collected in the name of mosque. Yes, if the people of mosque arrange for the teaching of Quran or establish madrasa under the mosque and keep the account of mosque and madrasa together then they can do so with the money that is collected in the name of mosque.
