Am I eligible for Zakat? Can we spend the maal on madrasa and other activities of deen, like khidmat of jamat?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I am a Computer Engineer in a reputed getting salary of 3.6L/per annum. We are living in a joint family. We have a debit around 7Lacs in business purposes. I am trying to repay the debit soon but in the meantime I am taking care of my family by the grace of Allah, Alhamdulillah. We generously donate in Madrasa having intention of Allah to give us the taufeeq to repay it soon.
Now my question is am I eligible for Zakat? Can we spend the maal on madrasa and other activities of deen, like khidmat of jamat? Please mention any dua for repay the debt soon.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

You should see your capacity and donate to madrasa and other religious work accordingly.
If you own gold, silver, cash or business item equal to nisab (value of 613 gram silver), then you will have to pay zakah of the total value which you own after completing one (lunar) year. But the debt which you have taken for business, its instalments of this year will be deducted from the existing value and the zakah will be calculated.
