Assalamalaykum, I have 65,000/- salary per month aslo I have some home and personal loan. every month I spend 25000/- on home loan, 20,000/- on personal loan and home expenses about 10,000/- Rightnow I dont have have Gold, Silver and bank balance. So Am I eligible for ZAKAT. Please advice me and let me know how much amout should I zakat. I am waiting for you reply. Thank you. regards, Shafik Inamdar

(Fatwa: 1657/1193/L=1431)

In the question mentioned above, you will have to pay Zakah if you own an amount more than the amount you have to pay to the bank within one year if it reaches up to nisab i.e. 52.5 tola silver and one year passes over it, otherwise not. The quantity of Zakah is 2.5% i.e. 2.5 rupees out of one hundred rupees.
