What are the Islamic guidelines on taking commission from ecommerce companies that promote food and beverages?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I work with a mobile app company which sells foods, beverage and new year parties deals. However I only onboard merchants who sell halal food but other employees onboard merchant which sells beer and hard drinks. I believe I get salary for my work but my company’s revenue also includes that money from selling alcohol. I want to know if my income is halal?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 356/321/L=3/1439)

It is not right to do a job where wine is sold and bought. However, if you sell only halal food then your income shall not be termed makrooh or haram. If the company belongs to a non-Muslim then there is no issue if the company owns wealth earned through wine. It shall be lawful to receive the salary though he pays it from wine money. Secondly, if the income of wine is less than the income of other halal things then in case of combination the dominating one is taken into consideration, hence if the income gained from halal source is more and the income which is gained by the haram means is less then all the income shall be deemed to be halal. Thus in this case too it shall be halal for you to take the salary.
