I wanted to know how the income (in term of rental money) of father and property should be distributed among 3 children (2 sons and 1 daughter) and wife after the death of our father, in the light of Quran and Sunnah. We wanted to settle things before his death. Another question, if 1 son is left unmarried, does it affect the percentage in share?

(Fatwa: 1609/1186/H=11/1434)
(1) If at the time of father’s death only these heirs were alive then all the property of the father shall be divided into 40 shares, after paying due rights preceding inheritance. Out of the total, 5 shares shall go to his wife, 14-14 shares to each son while each daughter shall get 7 shares.
(2) Being married or unmarried will not have any effect on getting share in inheritance.
