Q: I would like to know what TALAAQUL BAA-IN means. I was told by an Alim the nikkah (marriage) is completely over and the only way to reconcile would be by making halala.The other Alim said that if there is love and affection a new nikaah would need to take place at anytime during the iddat period or even after the iddat period. Please advise correctly.
A:Halaalah is only necessary once 3 talaaqs take place. If 1 or 2 talaaq baa-in was given and the couple wish to be together then a new nikaah needs to be performed whether the iddat is complete or not.
