Opening a New Home

Q: I built new house. I want to start living there. Please let me know what is the sunnah to opening of new house.

A:There is no particular sunnat  method of moving to a new home, but you could give some charity to attract the mercy of Allah and and recite surah Baqarah (second chapter of the Quran) in the house as it is mentioned in hadeeth that the devil (Shaitaan) flees from the home in which surah Baqarah is recited.
