Removing Veil Occassionally

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: Is it allowed for someone that wears to niqab (face veil) to take it off sometimes?

A: 1. The Niqaab should not be removed in front of those with whom Hijaab is necessary. It can be removed in front of Mahrams.

2. It will not be correct to sometimes wear the Niqaab and sometimes not. If the lady removes it at times, this does not mean that she should discard it completely, but should endeavour to wear it regularly.

Mufti Siraj adds:
3. If it is removed at a time when the woman feels she will not be confronted with non-Mahram males or when driving in a car with the husband, this is allowed.
