Q: I would like to know what is the ruling on the use of tampons in Islam. Is it permissible?
A: Inserting anything into the vagina unless for medical reasons, is makrooh tahreemi (not permissible). Since a woman is able to use the normal sanitary pads, she should not use tampons. (Ref: Minahaul-Waarideen)
