Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

1. Is a woman in haidh allowed to recite surahs from the Quraan from memory?

2. Is it compulsory for females to wear pants when performing salaah?

3. I have a debt to pay. Is it permissible to go for umrah if someone else
is paying for my trip?

4. Rewards are multiplied in the haramain. Does this mean qadhaa salaah due
will be made up as many times?

5. If I have spoken abt someone (ghibah) do I have to tell them and ask for
forgiveness?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

1. A woman in menstruation may not recite surahs from the Quran whether from memory or looking into a copy of the Quran. She may listen to the Quran being recited.[1]

2. Wearing pants ensures that no part of a woman’s ‘awrah (the part of the body which must be covered) is exposed. If a woman wears a dress that also covers the lower part of her body, then the salah is valid.[2]

3. Yes, you may go for ‘umrah in the enquired case. However, it is best that you request the financier of the trip to rather use the money to pay off your debt.

4. No, the reward of salāts performed in Haramain are multiplied. Each Salāh which was missed must be performed.

5. If the one you have backbitten knows that you have committed this crime, then you have to repent to Allah, resolve never to commit this act, and seek forgiveness from the one you have backbitten. If he is unaware of you backbiting about him, you must repent to Allah and resolve not to commit this sin in future.[3]
